For this career, a degree in a computing based subject is a must, but new starters can enjoy entry level pay of about £32,000.

If you are a bit more of a people person, you may take on a job as a Training Management Officer. This job involves making sure that everyone else is completely trained and qualified to perform their own jobs – so you need a sound level of knowledge yourself. As such, again a degree is needed for entry to this career. This career applies to both ships and land – a training management officer at sea will be supplying hands on training for people on board a ship.
