During my investigation into the options for people who select to Work From Home, I made a decision to add myself to the expanding number of folk who are paid for undertaking surveys on the internet. I was required to enrol with a lot of survey companies in order to ensure I had a wide variety of surveys to undertake.
Their initial data would lead you to think that if you are ready to do lots of Online Jobs, doing surveys, then you can find yourself earning a good living and with the chance of getting prizes too. From my experience I would say that this Internet Business is without doubt not all it is marketed to be. If you were told that you could find work for 30p an hour, would you accept the job? Probably not! Yet with some of these survey businesses, that is what you earn. There are some which tell you they will give ?2 to complete a 20 minute survey, but I never looked to match the profile they were after. I usually was a match for the 10p for 20 minute survey profile.
On top of this, your details are supposed to be private, and you are not supposed to be phoned by anybody after any surveys you undertake, yet on two different occasions I was contacted, once by a holiday company wanting me to be part of their deal (equivalent to timeshare) and again by a firm wanting to clear my credit card debts. Not bad outlay for these businesses, a very good way of marketing themselves to people who fit their market, for the sake of 10p!
Other businesses are not survey businesses at all, but want you to buy their cheap airline tickets or clothes. Some want you to use their internet casino and offer you an incentive of a sum of money to spend on your first visit. Be careful, you could lose all that money you accumulated on the other survey panel web sites very quickly.
A lot of businesses do not give you money at all, merely points for you to “spend” on things they have available on their web site – think Green Shield Stamps here – how many points do you actually require to purchase a pair of socks?
Do not get me wrong, there are a number of sites that do actually pay money worth having – one would appear to pay 50p for completing a very short survey, so that would equate to ?6 per hour, but as they do not actually throw many surveys your way, the hour could be spread over a long time period.
So, all in all, if you are choosing to Work From Home, and want Online Jobs which will pay good funds and where you do not feel that you are being had, look at a different Internet Business to survey panels. If, however, you just want to advise people of your opinion on which make-up, conditioner, or other items you prefer, where you like to holiday, what your political views are, and are not financially driven, then this is a good leisure activity. Keep a note of all the surveys you have undertaken, and the dates, as you will on occasion be asked if you have completed surveys in any of the following areas recently, and have fun, but do not expect it to make you rich.
